Chief Instructor Terry Wiest

Terry is a native Washingtonian and grew up fishing the Cedar and Green Rivers along with the Puget Sound where he learned how to fish from his Dad.

An avid Salmon and Steelhead Fisherman, you can find Terry fishing all over the Pacific Northwest during all times of the year. Not only Steelhead and Salmon, but Lingcod and Halibut are also targeted species.

Terry's specialty is float fishing and has fished with and learned from the best. Now you can find him teaching others on the river and through seminars and clinics.

Terry is also very active with the Puget Sound Anglers and is now the Past-President of the South King County Chapter, serving in that capacity from 2004 thru 2006.

Terry has written articles published in Northwest Sportsman Magazine, Fishing & Hunting News, The Reel News and Washington/Oregon Fish & Game. He's also featured in the book "Pro Tactics for Steelhead and Salmon".

Terry fishes from his 23' Shamrock named "Lucky" while in the Sound or Ocean, or you can usually find him "banking" numerous rivers throughout the region.

Besides Steelhead University, Terry is also the Webmaster for Salmon University.

Associate Instructor Phil Stephens

Phil is one of the top Guides in the Northwest and we're proud to have him on our staff.

Phil primarily fishes the SouthWest Rivers (Humptulips, Chehalis System, and the Cowlitz), but where theres fish, you find Phil. Salmon and Steelhead alike, he knows his stuff. Phil is known as much for is excellent fishing skills as well as how much he is respected by his clients and his peers. Truly one of the "Good Guys", Phil loves to fish and loves to teach others how to improve their skills.

We welcome Phil as a member of the Steelhead University Team and look forward to his upcoming articles and seminars to help us all catch more fish.

Associate Instructor Jody Allison

Jody owns and operates Anglers Advantage Tackle, one of the most recognized Jig Companies on the West Coast. Through personal experience with many years of steelhead fishing, Jody knows what it takes to target that prized chromer.

Jody is friends with and fishes with many of the top guides in Oregon and we look forward to his input from the experts to the South.

Jody's a regular speaking at many clubs and events in Oregon and we look forward to his input with Steelhead University.

Associate Instructor Todd Girtz

Todd is one of the most recognized fisherman in the Pacific Northwest. His wealth of knowledge and gift of teaching others to fish is a true asset to Steelhead University and we welcome him to our team.

Steelhead, Salmon, Trout, Halibut, Lings, Walleye and even Muskie, Todd continues to improve on his expertise and is a walking fishing encyclopedia.

You'll find Todd fishing over 100 days per year and he'll be the first one on the water and the last one off.

We look foward to Todd sharing with everyone some of his knowledge to make us all better fisherman.

The newest member of our Team, Bryanna is our weekly blogger.

Bry enjoys both salmon and steelhead fishing and travels around the Northwest most weekends seeking chrome.
